Perawatan saluran akar pada sisa akar gigi dengan restorasi direk (Endodontic treatment on premolar root with direct fnal restoration)
Abstract
Background: Endodontic treatment is a treatment of choice to maintain teeth inside the oral cavity preventing extraction of the teeth and the negative effect on the stomatignatic system. Knowledge and skills, helps by proper equipment and material will determine the result of endodontic treatment. Purpose: This case report will discuss endodontic treatment on the root of frst maxilary leftpremolar with direct composite resin fnal restoration reinforced by fbre post. Case: The crown of the tooth was already missing and the patient didn’t want the tooth to be extracted and replace with denture. Clinical examination revealed a frst maxilary left premolar with missing crown, viatality test was negative and mild pain due to percussion. The tooth was diagnosed as chronic apical periodontitis. Case management: Conventional Endodontic treatment was the treatment of choice with direct composite restoration post fbre resinforced. Six month post treatment, radiographic examination showed healing on periapical lesion, the tooth was asymptomatic and function of the tooth was restored. Conclusion: Considering many factors, endodontic treatment with direct fnal restoration can be successful but long term evaluation is still needed.
